A tale of two strikers

Ryan Fredericks says that West Ham will need to be wary of the Premier League's leading goalscorer when the two sides meet at the LOS on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham's energetic full-back has been ever-present in Manuel Pellegrini's Premier League selections so far this season and is looking forward to United potentially gaining their first win at Stratford of the season.

However he believes that they will have to keep a close eye on Finnish striker Teemu Pukki - who already has five goals to his name this season, including a hat-trick scored against Newcastle Utd - if they are to run out winners this weekend.

"They're a good young side and they've got lots of exciting players," Fredericks told whufc.com. "We'll be wary of that and we'll also be confident that if we do our stuff, we can win the game.

"They play a pretty attacking brand of football, like us. Even in the first game when they lost [4-1] to Liverpool, they made chances. And Teemu Pukki's firing.

"He's come into the league, he's adapted very quickly and, credit to him, he looks like a clinical finisher - but I'm sure our defenders will be nice and tight to him.

"I'm expecting goals in the game - hopefully all for us, not for them!"

However the former Fulham defender believes that Norwich will have to be at their very best in order to curtail West Ham's biggest threat - new signing Sebastien Haller, who scored a brace last Watford last weekend.

"Haller's got a bit of everything," added Fredericks. "He links up the play well - he's not just a big man that gets into the box. He can do a bit on the ball and he pulls out finishes from some crazy angles!

"He gets his legs in weird positions to score goals, like he did the other day with the bicycle kick. I'm sure now he's got his first couple of goals, he's going to carry on firing us up the table."
