Manuel Lanzini has ended speculation regarding his future by signing a new contract with West Ham.

The Argentinian playmaker was out of contract at the end of the current campaign, although the club retained a two-year extension option as part of the deal reached in 2016.

However it will no longer be necessary to trigger that extension after the two parties agreed a new four-year deal - which once again comes with a two-year option - that ties Lanzini to West Ham until 2023.

"I'm so happy to sign a new contract for West Ham," the 26-year-old told West Ham's website. "I think it's the best decision for me.

"I've been here for a long time and I've said in an interview before that I like West Ham, I like the fans, I like the staff and when I came here all the people were comfortable with me. I like to stay here.

"It's a big decision but also easy.It was easy, because I love it here; I love London, I love the club and I am happy. We have a very good team and we have a very good manager."

Lanzini joined West Ham, initially on a season-long loan, from Al-Jazira before making that temporary stay a permanent one in the summer of 2016.
