Javier Hernandez has completed his transfer to Spanish club Seville - on European transfer deadline day.

The 31-year-old striker, who would have been out of contract with West Ham at the end of the current season moves to La Liga in a deal worth around ?8million on a three-year contract.

The news was confirmed by the Spanish club on Monday morning.

"Sevilla FC and West Ham United FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Javier Hern?ndez Balc?zar, known in the footballing world as Chicharito, to join Sevilla," read a statement on their website."

Hernandez, who joined West Ham from German side Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017 scored 17 goals in 63 games during his spell in London, but was clearly not suited to the style of football employed by Manuel Pellegrini.

The 5'7" striker was used sparingly in the lone striker's role favoured by the current manager and he had been angling for a move to pastures new for some considerable time.

Hernandez's final goal in claret and blue came during West Ham's first away game of the season in the 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion.
