There are still 11 weeks to go until the winter transfer window opens for business - but West Ham's name continues to be mentioned in dispatches regarding a series of potential targets...

* Not for the first time, West Ham are being linked with a move for Chelsea's French international striker Olivier Giroud.

The former Arsenal star has been mentioned on numerous occasions in the past with a switch to West Ham and fresh rumours have emerged following comments by the 33-year-old to Goal regarding his immediate future.

"I have some beautiful years in front of me," he said, modestly. "I'm 33, I still have legs and a good healthy lifestyle and I feel good physically. We will make the decision [regarding my future] in January. "Do I want to leave Chelsea? Not necessarily. But if I need to make a choice."

* Crystal Palace are reported to have joined the "race" to sign Brazilian striker Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa.

Rated around the ?25million mark, Barbosa is currently on loan at Flamego but his parent club, Serie A giants Inter, are reported by Italian sources to be prepared to sell.

The situation is said to have alerted West Ham, who were linked with the prolific goalscorer as recently as last winter, but now Palace are said to have expressed an interest too. Barbosa, still only 23, has previously spent time on loan at Santos and Benfica.

* Perhaps the youngest player to be linked with a move to east London in the past 24 hours is Angola Under 17 international Zito Luvumbo.

Cited recently by The Guardian as one of the world's most talented youth players, the Rennes midfielder - who is set to feature in the forthcoming Under 17 World Cup Finals in Brazil - is reported to have piqued the attention of both West Ham Utd and Manchester Utd.

Angola - who will participate in Group A alongside the hosts, plus Canada and New Zealand - are said to have produced a crop of youngsters set to take European football by storm, with Luvumbo leading the pack.

* Queens Park Rangers full back Ryan Manning is being chased by several Premier League clubs, say a London-based website.

West Ham - along with Watford, Southampton and Newcastle are all said to be keeping tabs on the situation regarding the 23-year-old Irish defender, who is out of contract with the CHampionship club next year.

Signed by Rangers from Galway United in 2015, Manning spent the first half of last season on loan at Rotherham - but has regained his form since returning to Loftus Road, for whom he has been an ever-present so far this season.

* West Ham tried to sign Arsenal's Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny earlier this year, according to the player's agent.

Alaa Nazmy, who represents the 27-year-old midfielder claimed that the Hammers were one of several clubs vying for his signature - before he opted to Besiktas on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window.

"Elneny received a lot of offers last summer, led by Leicester City, West Ham United and Valencia, but Besiktas managed to settle the deal with Arsenal," he told Time Sport.
