The Arsenal boss was delighted after securing his first win as Gunners boss at the expense of West Ham at the LOS on Wednesday night.

Ljungberg claimed that Arsenal "sliced open" West Ham after the hour mark - despite having been distinctly second best until that point.

Three goals in nine second half minutes secured the win for the visitors who had previously been booed off by their own fans at the interval, at which point they were a goal behind.

"We were slow, we were lethargic and low in confidence, " he said. "But I asked them to give it a go in the second half - and didn't they just.

"It was amazing to see for me. You saw West Ham getting a bit tired and a bit low around the 60th minute and we sliced them open. We played some really good football"
