Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini believes that West Ham have turned the corner - as far as their away form is concerned, at least.

Following a disastrous run of form that resulted in West Ham tumbling down the Premier League table, two wins in their last three away games - at Chelsea and Southampton yesterday - has lifted United away from the relegation zone.

Yet according to the boss, it was no more than he expected. "Seeing the team play in the way we did today is what I expect from them," he said during his post-match press conference.

"I always tell them we must play in the same way, to try to be a solid team and score goals. We are able to do it better [than we have been]."

And Pellegrini revealed that his team will now be able to enjoy a short break in preparation for a busy Chrsitmas period. "We are going to have a rest now as we don't have a game until the 26th," he added.

"It is a part of the year where we must arrive fresh because we have to play the 26th, the 28th and 1st January. We will have some days off, recover and then prepare for Crystal Palace."
