Howe bad were we, asks Eddie

Cherries manager Eddie Howe called Bournemouth's crushing defeat at West Ham "an opportunity lost".

The 42-year-old, who had been interviewed as a potential replacement for Manuel Pellegrini before David Moyes was offered the position admitted that his team's defensive pperformance was considerably below the required standard.

"Defensively today, they were poor goals to conceded," he admitted. "When you come away from home you can't defend like that. We were well off today."

The defeat sent Bournemouth - who have now taken just one point from their last ten Premier League fixtures - tumbling into the bottom three of ther Premier League.
