Sky Sports have issued an apology to West Ham's board after the club sent a letter complaining about comments made on last weekend's show.

Earlier today Sky presenter Geoff Shreeves reeled off an apology to David Sullivan and his fellow directors after they wrote to Sky following last Sunday's broadcast.

The Sunday supplement team hammered the current adminstration's leadership

The board are understood to have been annoyed by comments made by the show's guests which included Guardian writer Johnathan Liew, the Telegraph's Matt Law and Times' Chief Sports Writer Matt Dickenson.

Law described West Ham as "an absolute shambles" - whilst Liew, in reference to players and managers past suggested "there is a culture that... everybody's got their hands in the till".

And that was enough for West Ham's board of directors to demand an apology from the broadcaster, which was delivered a week after the original programme was put out - and following the removal of the offending section from a podcast version of the Supplement.

"Following conversations this week between the Sunday Supplement and the club, we apologise for any factual inaccuracies made on the programme," said Shreeves. "Sky Sports always strive for fairness and accuracy in our programming."

We're sorry, said Shreeves on behalf of his employers
