West Ham places first team squad in self-isolation

West Ham United have confirmed that the entire first team squad and associated personell have been placed in quarantine after coming into contact with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
It was confirmed late on Thursday evening that the Gunners boss had contracted Covid-19, popularly known as Coronavirus.West Ham played Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium last weekend and several players plus officials, including manager David Moyes, came into contact with Arteta.
And that has led to the club placing those involved in self-isolation as a precautionary measure.
"Due to members of West Ham personnel being in direct contact with Arsenal manager at our game at Emirates Stadium at the weekend, the Club is taking a precautionary approach and those individuals are now self-isolating, in line with Government health guidelines," said a spokesman.
The news follows an announcement by the Premier League that Premier League fixtures are being suspended until the beginning of April.
