Soucek strikes back for the Republic

Tomas Soucek was on fire against Estonia on Tuesday night as he struck a hat-trick inside 16 minutes.

The Czech Republic ran out 6-2 winners in their latest World Cup qualifier with the West Ham midfielder grabbing three goals - two in the final third of the first half and one shortly after the restart.

The home side took an early, unexpected lead when Rauno Sappinen opened the scoring after just 12 minutes - but goals from Patrik Schick (18 minutes) and Antonin Barak put the Republic ahead.

Then Soucek launched his devastating spell by making it 3-1 on 32 minutes before extending the away team's lead two minutes ahead of the half time interval. A third, coming just three minutes into the ssecond half completed his hat-trick.

Jakub Jankto made it 6-1 to the Czech with just 56 minutes on the clock before Henri Anier grabbed a late consolation for a shellshocked Estonia in the 86th minute.

Fellow Hammers Valdimir Coufal was rested for the game, being one of seven unsused substitutes. You may view haighlights form the game, including all three Soucek goals, below.
