The opposition view: Wolverhampton Wanderers

Having suffered two league defeats to West Ham in the same season for the first time in 98 years, you might expect Wolves fans to be a little bit disappointed following last night's 3-2 defeat at Molineux. We've sifted through the detritus to bring you the best views from the opposition in the latest edition of the OV...

"Such a frustrating game, if we'd cut out the terrible defending and been more clinical in our finishing we created more than enough chances first half to win the match. We desperately need at least one quality CB signing with a bit of pace. When our current CBs play together none of them are good enough to compensate for the others' shortcomings when they make mistake and we look terribly vulnerable whenever players run at them regardless of formation. Again lacking any urgency towards the end of the game and we had nothing from the bench to really change anything (what was the point of bringing Hoever on in the 91st minute?)"
- jrpb-3

"Hideous, dreadful defending. How you can let a player run from their box to your box and score, unchallenged, twice, is beyond comprehension."
- Michellis

"I think the vast majority of fans knew there was the potential disaster on the horizon when the line up came out at - myself included. Coady was ripped a new one by Antonio in the first match so if anyone thought it was going to be any different then I admire their optimism. Throw an 'on fire' Lindgaard into the mix, but I honestly did not expect it to be that bad for that 30-minute horror show. Semedo was well and truly mugged off in the second goal like a League Two defender and for an international keeper to be beaten at the near post like Patricio was for the third was pretty embarrassing - let alone the fact that four players couldn’t even foul Lindgard in the lead up to it."
- Corporate Wolf

"We should have fouled them for all three goals. Not how you want to play but sometimes it needs to be done."
- Muscat

"Watched the match and just felt numb after the third went in, such stupid goals to give away when a trip or hefty barge on the attackers would have stopped play before the danger became apparent. WH did it us on the few occasions we sprung a counter in the first half, our player crosses the halfway line ..boom he is taken out no question, concede a yellow and get on with it. Are we too nice or were Lingard and Antonio world beaters? I could tell WH had shut up shop with 30 mins left to play, any injury and they took an age to get back up. The argy bargy at the end of the game was down to this feigned injury and time wasting and revving the guys up no end."
- PulverWolf

"Woken up as annoyed as I went to bed after that defensive shocker. I suggest our lads start kneeling 10 seconds earlier in future so that as well as making the very just message about racism having no place in the game (or anywhere else for that matter) they can also reflect on their learnings that Back Fives Matter..."
- Wolf of Wall Heath

"West Ham could have scored with the Patricio save onto the post, the disallowed goal that hit Soucek's hand and the Bowen header miss. So if we apply the 'we missed chances so could have had x goals', by applying the same logic to West Ham they still win. We did play well going forward BUT that defensive display was so bad it gave us no chance to win the game in the end."
- Leamwolf

"Clinging to little incidents, like blaming one player for missing a decent chance is clutching at straws. Over the whole match, West Ham were so totally better than us for 30 minutes, during which they scored three and could have had five. Yes, we did at least put up a fight which is mighty relieving as at 3-0, it looked like we might concede double figures. The end result was a fair reflection of the teams, basically."
- Contrarian

"West Ham players were shot to pieces with 20 minutes to go and how many clear chances did we muster after getting the second goal? We have handed West Ham that game on a plate tonight with disgraceful defending and not enough clear cut chances from us and I am ****ing fuming. Tonight's game summed up what we have become in many different ways. Lacking in attack, ponderous in midfield and woeful at the back."
- JOSWolf

"We lost three key players in 24 hours and then played a team who have just moved into the top four and like today, took Arsenal apart in the first 30 minutes two weeks ago. I can give the team credit for not getting hammered by the 6-7 goals that woeful defending first half deserved and getting back into it and forcing West Ham to time waste. First 30 mins was awful defensively but we could have scored 2-3 ourselves. After that, we were the better team."
- Sussex Wolf

"I was completely embarrassed watching that defending in the first half. We made Lingard and Antonio look like prime Messi and Ronaldo up top for West Ham. It really annoyed me that after doing so well to get back to 2-3 we then showed zero urgency, applied little pressure and barely created a single chance in the final 20. At no point during it did I really get the sense we might actually equalise. What a complete waste. I hate this season."
- wolfgar

"Wolves were decent overall. Dodgy defending in first half, but that had just as much to do with our attacking threat. Second half was all Wolves, but just lacked that certain striker. Both wolves goals were quality. Both sides missing big players.. Entertaining game."
- normanomates

"As an attacking force that was as good as we’ve been all season, with more composure we probably score five. Defensively though the goals we conceded were inexcusable, I’ve seen better defending in parks football. We had this conundrum earlier in the season, the back four gives us much more attacking threat and intent, but leaves us so open at the back and prone to mistakes. That game tonight could have finished any score really but it’s difficult to justify us getting something from it when we concede goals as poor as that. Frustrating."
- WS10Wolf

"If ever a ninety minutes summed up Adama Traore... Gets us back in the game with an incredible moment and then barely touches the ball again for the entire rest of the game. It genuinely looked like we were avoiding passing to him in the second half."
- thommo1984

"After going three down I thought 'well I'll take my gold tinted specs off and look at the game as neutral as I can'. Prior to that it was Keystone Cops defending, absolutely dreadful. I was actually laughing at them, I never thought I'd say that about us. All that aside I thought we actually played quite well, certainly the better team I thought and should have got a point somehow. Quite how Jose and Neto failed from two yards out I don't know. We need a complete overhaul in the summer if we are to survive next season."
- Black Country Wanderer

"I know people bang on about other sides not having much luck, but we really haven't. Look at last night for starters,we lost our best two defenders, that would hurt most teams."
- Mugwump

"Its comical how bad we are defensively when we play four at the back. Our last three attempts playing four at the back: 3-2 West Ham, 3-2 WBA, 3-3 Brighton.
NO OTHER TEAM IS THAT BAD AT DEFENDING WHEN PLAYING A BACK FOUR, NO OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE."
- Sanewolf

"Attacking-wise we played quite well for the whole game, we just have to be sharper. Jose doesn't look like he'll ever score and Neto's finishing is the one part of his game that needs major improvement. Defensively, first half a shambles - we defended like a park team. Second half was a lot lot better all across the pitch (although how much of that was West Ham sitting back allowing our defence a break is not clear), but again we really lack any urgency. There's no 'roll the sleeves up'-type players in the team."
- pacamac

"Dawson showed Dendoncker how to defend about a minute before their first goal. Got beat, took the yellow. If I never saw him in a Wolves shirt again it would be way too soon. Total lack of accountability in any area of his game: lack of goals (regardless of tonight), safe passing, can’t tackle. He’s becoming a parody."
- TheConcourse

"Despite our poor season, we still really arent that far away from being a quality side. Three quality players in the summer and things will look a whole lot better. Ridiculous some idiots are calling for Nuno's head at this moment in time. One below par season in four and the entitled drama queens are out in force. He's earned the chance to fix it up next year, if things dont pick up, then I'm sure it will be the end of him and we will change managers."
- Mugwump

"Sorry Nuno, you're a lovely man and thank you for the first three years and donating the £250k to charity, but now is the time to bow out. This team is dead in the water and the fact they only play for a maximum of 45 minutes consistently shows he has lost the dressing room and cannot motivate them anymore."
- Leamwolf

"I am just not enjoying this anymore. I am so angry watching, I am trying to be more controlled. But I genuinely am angry. Feels so bad and just something I do not want to go through. But we all know that it’s not how it works."
- Norway Wolves

"Well done West Ham. They got their goals and won the game. That's all you need. If Antonio is fit he has to go to the Euros. He is unplayable when he's playing like that. It was looking like it was going to be an embarrassing result, but they showed some fight."
- clivewolves

"Them losing Antonio swung the game back to us, let’s not forget that. He was playing with our defenders."
- Leamwolf

"West Ham won't finish top four playing like that. OK, you might argue they had done the job for 40 minutes but we opened them up frequently and showed their frailty. Decent side though, particularly when their players are fit."
- Florida Wolfey

"We must not forget West Ham are top four and have dismantled most sides this year. Doesn’t make it any better though. I wish we had Lingard!"
- Oh When the Wolves

"Despite the difference of a single goal in the scoreline, West 'aaam was in a different class. Had Antonio not been forced off and Soucek been unfortunate for the ball hitting his arm, it would have been more. West Ham is a team we 'always' turn over. Shows how far we have fallen away this season!"
- SA Wolf

"I've watched the goals again. West Ham's third goal is the worst I've ever seen Wolves defend. Lingard ran through FIVE players!"
- Hoganstolemywife

"The way they ripped us apart in the first half 2-3 doesn't look too bad. The defending for the first was bad enough, but the third was embarrassing."
- Saltyjim

"We have been found out this year. With injuries and lack of squad development I think that's it. We can bang on and say 'is Lingard a world beater?', he's playing bloody well as has Antonio all year. We are a bottom six side on current form and position and play."
- Northampton_wolf

"Every time I see Lingard's goal on the news I get angrier with Saiss. Talk about a player hiding. I know we are meant to be social distancing but FFS, Saiss was a disgrace."
- Irish_Wolf

"Woke up to a text off a West Ham mate saying 'your whole defence looked like fat kids playing kiss chase running after Lingard'. Please can this season just end?"
- Yamalroite
