West Ham ended the match with ten men for the second successive game as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea.
A woefully-understrength West Ham, once again missing several key players were unable to unlock Chelsea's well-drilled defence as new Blues manager Thomas Tuchel masterminded his tenth clean sheet since arriving at Stamford Bridge. And consequently Timo Werner's goal two minutes ahead of the half time interval was enough for the visitors to secure all three points in this hugely-important London derby, with both teams chasing a Champions League spot.
Yet the main talking point was Chris Kavanagh's decision to dismiss Fabian Balbuena nine minutes from the end of full time - a decision that Hammers boss David Moyes described as "rank" and "rotten" during his post match presser.
