West Ham United have confirmed that season ticket holders without access to a smart phone or printer will be able to apply for a "stadium access card".

The club recently received a number of complaints when it was revealed season ticket holders without access to modern technology would have to queue at the ticket office before each game in order to pick up printed tickets.

And as it was felt this would mostly affect elderly fans, many of whom would have to add a couple of hours to their journey, fans - including KUMB - implored the club to review their policy.

A victory for the fans - and common sense

Thankfully the club have indeed reviewed the situation and confirmed that any affected fans will now be able to apply for a "physical" season ticket, much as was the system before digital ticketing was introduced.

"The club is conscious that a small number of season ticket holders may not have access to a smartphone and we will continue to be inclusive and make sure we do everything we can to support all of our fans," read a statement on the club's website.

"Those season ticket holders who do not have access to a smartphone will be able to request a physical stadium access card with their photograph on. More information on how to request this will be sent directly to season ticket holders via email.

"This has been achieved by consulting with the Independent Supporters Committee and taking on board supporter feedback regarding views on their return to matches, including on digital ticketing and solutions for supporters.

"The return of our supporters to matches has been a welcome sight for everyone at West Ham United, with the club continuing to work in conjunction with all relevant stakeholders, while adhering to evolving Government and Premier League guidance."
