His career is littered with fantastic, albeit fleeting moments of brilliance.

From the wonder goal against Tottenham for West Ham through to the England Under 21 training strikes, former Iron Ravel Morrison has always been capable of producing stunning examples of skill.

Sadly he has never been able to translate that into consistent performances - although his highlights reel is as good as anyone who has appeared on YouTube.

And those fans at Pride Park on Tuesday night were witness to one more stunning example of the midfielder's undoubted ability when he scored an absolute scorcher to help the Rams proceed to the next round of the Carabao Cup.

His first goal in English football since scoring for Queens Park Rangers against Nottingham Forest seven years ago in 2014, Morrison fired home with his side traling 3-2 to send the match into a penalty shootout - which Derby won 5-3.

And Rams boss Wayne Rooney believes he will have a difficult task keeping hold of the former England youth international - who only signed for Derby three days earlier - if he continues to display the kind of form he showed against Salford.

"If I get the best out of him this season, I think it will be very difficult for us to keep hold of him," he said.

"I am sure there will be Premier League teams knocking at the door trying to get him, if I get what I want out of him. I have a lot of faith in him. His ability has never been in question."

You may watch Morrison's wonder goal below.
