The 24-year-old spent three season at West Ham but made just one start and one substitute appearance for the Hammers.

"Nottingham Forest are delighted to confirm the signing of Xande Silva on a permanent deal from Premier League side West Ham", read a statement on Forest's website, published at 11pm on the dot.

"Xande joins The Reds on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee and becomes The Reds' eighth signing of the summer transfer window."

Silva - whose sole start for West Ham came in an FA Cup tie against Birmingham City - spent last season on loan at Greek club Aris who were hoping to make the deal permanent.

However Silva has opted instead to remain in England with Forest.
