Diop scored an average of 8/10 in his three appearances last month - 7/10 vs Dinamo Zagreb, 9/10 v Man Utd and 8/10 v Rapid Vienna - making him eligible for the award having featured in half of West Ham's six fixtures, the minimum (50 per cent) required to be in contention.
And while Alex Kral and Ryan Frdericks also finished with a monthly avergae of 8/10 they only featured in one and two matches respectively, ruling them out of contention.
Instead second place in this month's award was split between three players - Craig Dawson, Kurt Zouma and Manuel Lanzini, all of whom averaged 7.67 having each similarly featured in three matches.
