David Moyes has dismissed questions about West Ham United's Premier League title credentials - but insisted that a top four finish was a legitimate target.

Asked by the BBC after Sunday afternoon's 3-2 win against Liverpool whether the Hammers could produce a title challenge having already seen off both Manchester and Liverpool clubs this season, Moyes set his sights a little lower.

“I want to be really positive all the time but I don’t see that at the moment,” Moyes responded. “We can challenge the top four but whoever they are I want to see if we can give us an opportunity.

"We missed out on Champions League football by two points last season so why can't we be there [this year]? We are not getting carried away, but this it is feeling good at the moment.

“This result shows that we’re really in with a good chance of challenging for the top places. I’m hugely proud, the way the players have gone about it."

And Moyes dismissed suggestions that West Ham United's transformation was solely down to him. "You talk about me turning it around but these players were close to relegation," he said. "Now we’re pushing for Europe.”
