A Leeds United supporter has posted an appeal on social media in order to discover the identity of a West Ham United supporter who returned their wallet to them - by post.

The fan, who posts on twitter under the pseudonym 'Paul Leeds' was devastated to lose a wallet bought for him by his children as a Christmas present - not to mention the money and credit cards it contained - on the day West Ham hosted Leeds in the Premier League earlier this month.

Yet just days later Paul was knocked for six to receive a parcel in the post via recorded delivery containing his wallet and its contents - with a note, featuring an illegible signature from the sender apologising for the delay in returning it!

And now the Leeds fan, who is also a Director of National League South outfit Welling United has promised to donate the cash contained in his wallet to charity if the sender can be found.

"If anyone knows the person who sent it I'd like to thank them personally and maybe donate the cash to their chosen charity," wrote Paul via his twitter feed.

"I had to replace the cards but the most important thing was the wallet. It was a Christmas present from my children, they chose it and paid for it. The money back was obviously a huge bonus and made the gesture even more amazing."

So now the search is on! Do you know the person responsible for this incredible gesture? Perhaps it was you? If so, let us know so we can can get in touch with Paul.
