Those supporters travelling from the South East by public transport to West Ham's FA Cup fifth round tie with Southampton should now be able to catch a train home.

The game, which will take place on Wednesday, 2 March is scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm, meaning that should the game go to extra time supporters travelling by train were likely to be left without a means of returning home the same evening.

However it has been confirmed that the final, ten carriage train - which was initially due to depart from Southampton at 10.00pm - will now leave at 10.30pm instead, giving Hammers fans sufficient time to get back to the station even if extra time and penalties are required.

West Ham made the fifth round of the competition courtesy of wins against Leeds United in the third round and, by the skin of their teeth, non-league Kidderminster in the fourth round.

Meanwhile the Saints, who were drawn first out of the hat and thus afforded home advantage beat Championship outfit Swansea 3-2 and Coventry City 2-1 in order to book their spot in the next stage of the competition.
