Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has responded to a £25million offer from West Ham for striker Armando Broja by claiming the player is not currently for sale.

The Hammers launched a fresh bid to sign the 20-year-old a matter of hours after making a proposal for Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca on Friday.

However Tuchel, speaking from the Unites States where Chelsea are currently on a pre-season tour claimed that the player is not available for purchase - as things stand.

No deal - yet - Tuchel

"Armando is our player first of all and we have, at the moment, no interest in selling him," he told the media when asked if he would consider parting company with Broja.

"He is here to make an impression after he was on loan in Southampton. That's his situation from where we look up front. It's good if there's interest as it shows us there's talent and potential.

"It shows us that Armando is in the position to impress and become a Chelsea player. When will he become a Chelsea player? Nobody knows but hopefully as soon as possible.

"All the players that come [back] from loan or different situations and want to make a statement here are more than invited and supported. We are open, but they are well aware the task is very high because the group is competitive and the group is strong.

"I feel everyone is proud to be back and proud to be in the Chelsea squad. From there they are responsible for their own career and they have our support."

Meanwhile Tuchel revealed that he expects Broja to play apart in Chelsea's pre-season campaign when he has shaken off his current injury. "He got injured and there's a delay for him, which is never nice because a young player should normally make an impression from the first minute in pre-season," he added.

"He had a little accident in training with the ball and landed in a funny way on his ankle and achilles. He is in pain but nothing is injured – we did the examinations and it's just pain. He is lucky that he did not get injured. We are lucky and happy that he did not injure himself.

"He is not in training and he is in treatment so we have a bit of a delay. That's the situation."
