Lucas Paqueta was forced to retire during West Ham's 1-1 draw at Southampton last Sunday with a shoulder injury.

It was enough to keep him out of Wednesday night's 1-0 defeat at Anfield against Liverpool too, while David Moyes refused to answer questions regarding an expected return date when pushed to confirm after the game.

So in order to ease the concerns of supporters, the Brazilian playmaker took to Instagram in order to set the record regarding his forthcoming availability straight.

"In West Ham's last game against Southampton I suffered a right collarbone injury," he stated. "I had an exam today and it was discovered that there was a ligament injury.

"I'm fine thought, it was just a scare. I'm back in the next two weeks and soon I'll be on the pitch with the Hammers! Thank you all for the posts - God is in control."

Paqueta has featured on ten occasions for West Ham since making his potentially record-breaking move to east London from Lyon during the summer transfer window.

While yet to score, he hit the post with a header during the Southampton game prior to being substituted.
