Former West Ham United transfer target Youssef En-Nesyri rejected the opportunity to move to east London because it was too cold, claims a new report.
Spanish media source Estadio Deportivo claim the Moroccan international, whose international team mate Nayef Aguerd moved to West Ham last summer said "no" to the Hammers partly as a result of the colder climate. And he is said to be considering a move instead to Nice in France, despite having issued a statement last week insisting that he wishes to remain in Spain with current club Seville.
"In Nice he knows that he would be the team's main striker and in a city that he likes, on the shores of the Mediterranean and in a country where language would not be a barrier," read the ES article. "He wants nothing to do with the cold of London."
However El-Nesyri's desire to join the Ligue 1 side is far from assured yet as the French club are yet to match the €20million fee offered by West Ham during negotiations with Seville.
West Ham's search for a striker to assist Gianluca Scamacca and Michail ANotnio was resolved last week following the arrival of Danny Ings from Aston Villa, where it is currently a parky 3°C.
It is currently 10°C and cloudy in Nice - which is sandwiched between Monaco and Cannes on the south coast of France - just 5°C 'warmer' than in Stratford.
