The board of West Ham United are once again considering David Moyes' position following the 4-0 drubbing by Brighton at the Amex Stadium.
The under-pressure manager has been tipped to be replaced several times already this season with the board having contacted several managers with view to replacing him. However the pressure to act now has greatly improved once again follow today's disastrous surrender on the south coast.
Significantly, today also happened to be the first occasion on which the away fans turned on Moyes in great numbers.
Considered to be the best barometer of the most loyal, die-hard supporters, until today there had only been fleeting glimpses of discontent amongst the travelling faithful.
However the away end unanimously expressed their disappointment at today's performance during the second half of the game and at the final whistle, when many were heard to sing "you don't know what you're doing" and "you're getting sacked in the morning" to Moyes.
Quite whether the manager survives to remain in charge of Thursday night's Conference League tie against AEK Larnaca of Cyprus remains to be seen. But what is clear is that Moyes' position is under greater threat than at any time during his five years as manager of the club.
