Under 18s forced to wait for title

West Ham United's Under 18s blew the chance to secure the Premier League South title after falling to a surprise defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Academy side went into the game needing just one win from their last four matches to land the title but two injury time goals from the visitors condemned West Ham to only their third defeat of the season.

Callum Marshall gave the Hammers an early lead before Gideon Kodua doubled United's advantage just ahead of the hour mark.

And shortly after Bailey Smith had halved West Ham's advantage in the 75th minute, Remiero Moulton added a second for Brighton to make it 2-2.

However Lewis Orford's 86th minute strike appeared to have secured the points for the Hammers - before Harry Lee levelled again for the visitors in the second minute of added on time.

And the Hammers had barely recovered from that shock before Moulton grabbed his second of the day to condemn the Irons to a surprise defeat - and one that leaves them needing at least one more game before being able to confirm their impending title win.
