An outstanding free kick from West Ham's latest recruit Mohammed Kudus helped Ghana qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The forward, who recently moved to London from Ajax fired home from outside the penalty box to send the Black Stars on their way to next January's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).The Ghanaians saw off the challenge of the Central African Republic, winning 2-1 to book their place in the finals, which are being staged in the Ivory Coast for the second time between 13 January and 11 February.
The victory saw unbeaten Ghana top qualifying Group E with 12 points, three clear of second-place Angola, with three wins and three draws from their six pool matches.
Kudus' effort cancelled out an early opener for the Central African Republic, before an 88th minute effort from Lyon's Ernest Nuamah won the tie for Ghana. You may view his strike below, as well as other highlights from the match.
Elsewhere in international action last night, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal returned to the scene of West Ham's Conference League win as Czechia drew 1-1 with Albania in a Euro 2024 qualifier at Eden Arena in Prague. The midfielder played a part in his team's goal, providing the pass for Václav Černý to convert - which you may see below.
Meanwhile Said Benrahma was a second half substitute for Algeria as the North Africans drew 0-0 with Tanzania in Annaba's 19 May 1956 Stadium, while Alhonse Areola was an unused sub as France beat the Republic of Ireland 2-0 in Paris' Parc des Prices.
