Jarrod Bowen is a major doubt for this weekend's trip to Liverpool after he contracted an unknow virus.

The England hopeful has been in scintillating form so far for West Ham this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist during his first five appearances of the campaign.

However David Moyes, speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference on Friday lunchtime admitted that the forward was a major doubt for the forthcoming Anfield test.

And that is the result of Bowen having contracted an illness earlier this week that prevented him from playing a part in West Ham's 3-1 Europa League win against Backs Topola in Stratford on Thursday evening.

"Jarrod has had a virus and we’ll need to see how he is for the weekend," revealed Moyes, when asked for an update on his injured or previously unavailable players.

That aside, the manager has practically a full squad to choose from for the Liverpool game - with defender (and Liverpudlian) Aaron Cresswell his only other doubt.

" The others, I think we seem okay," he added. "Aaron had to come off with a bit of a hamstring problem, so we’ll check him out - but apart from that we’re probably about okay."

We'll have more for you from Moyes' press conference shortly.
