West Ham are reportedly "furious" with the Jamaican FA after Michail Antonio sustained a serious injury during Jamaica’s Concacaf Nations League clash with Canada on Saturday night.

Antonio, 33, was representing the Caribbean islanders in a Nations League quarter final at Kingston’s Independence Park when he sustained an injury to his medial knee ligament.

Yet after receiving initial treatment, he was allowed to play on for several minutes longer before eventually being replaced - much to the fury of West Ham, who are in the process of examining Antonio to ascertain the severity of the striker's injury.

Initial reports suggest the issue could keep Antonio sidelined for anywhere between six weeks and nine months - if the club's worst fears are to be realised.

West Ham are also said to be unhappy about the condition of the Independence Park playing surface.

Jamaica were beaten 2-1 thanks to an 85th minute winner from Stephen Eustáquio, after Jonathan David's opener had been nullified by Shamar Nicholson's 56th minute effort for the hosts.
