United remain winless in 2024 after falling to defeat at Old Trafford - even if the final score rather flattered today's hosts.

Erik Tan Hag's inconsistent Manchester leapfrogged United in the race for a European spot with goals either side of half time, as David Moyes' side continued their miserable run of new year form.

However United's performance was encouraging, at least, with the Hammers enjoying 22 attempts at goal - even if only three were on target.

Sadly for United the home side proved to be far more clinical on the day, with goals from Rasmus Højlund (22 minutes) and a second half brace by Alejandro Garnacho securing three important points in the race for a top six Premier League spot.
