Maxwell Cornet is expected to be sidelined for several weeks after picking up a thigh injury.

The Ivorian winger has been expected to enjoy a greater involvement in first team activities following the sale of Pablo Fornals to Real Betis and loan of Said Benrahma to Lyon.

However supporters are unlikley to see the 27-year-old feature for several weeks, according to manager David Moyes.

"Maxwel pulled his hamstring a bit in training before the Brentford match," Moyes told the assembled media pack during his pre-match press conference on Friday lunchtime. "He might be out for a few weeks."

The good news for Moyes is there were no further injury issues to report, with only fellow reserve Aaron Cresswell experiencing any kind of problem.

"Aaron Cresswell felt his calf and achilles before the Brentford game, so we didn't want to risk him," added the boss. "He should be alright for this weekend. At the moment they're the only two in the injury category."

We'll have more for you from Moyes' Everton presser later this afternoon.
