Luton manager Rob Edwards says David Moyes deserves a good send off from West Ham United supporters.
The Hatters, who stand 18th in the Premier League are West Ham's final opponent of the season at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday.Edwards' side go into the game knowing they need to take something out of the fixture in order to stand a chance of avoiding relegation, being as they are three points behind 17th-place Nottingham Forest who boast a superior goal difference.
Yet despite the importance of the match, the Town boss was keen to emphasise that Irons fans should give Moyes the send-off he deserves.
"“We’ll expect the best version of West Ham,” said Edwards, speaking during his pre-match press conference.
"David Moyes has done a great job, they have been consistent during his time there and got a trophy so should get a great response from their supporters. I have a lot of respect for him.
"Everyone at West Ham deserves credit for their success over the last few years. They only lost to an unstoppable team in the Europa League this time, so they have a great squad."
And when asked about the task facing them, Edwards insisted his team would give all they could to win the game - even though he accepts their fate is currently out of their hands.
"We’ve been in worse situations as a club," he said. "We know what we have to do, and it starts tomorrow.
"We’ll concentrate on ourselves and we’ll need help from others. It’s difficult to win games in the Premier League and it’s tough, but we need to do our job.
“We’ve grown into the league and now we’ve shown quality and can compete," he continued. "I think we’ve lost in style at times, the performances have been good but we’re at a point where we need points.
"All we can do is concentrate on West Ham because it’s still there for us. We’ve had a good week in training and we’re ready to give absolutely everything in this game."
