Bowen makes final cut

Jarrod Bowen is off to the European Championships after he was confirmed as one of England manager Gareth Southgate's 26 picks.

The manager's provisional 33-man squad was reduced by seven players today in order to produce the Three Lions' final squad for the forthcoming tournament, which kicks off next week.

And despite being tipped by numerous pundits to be one of those missing out, West Ham's leading goalscorer last season - who played the full 90 minutes as England beat Bosnia * Herzegovina 3-0 last weekend - is IN the final selection.

"I’m so proud," said an equally relived and delighted Bowen, reflecting on the news.

"Any call-up for your country is amazing, but to go to a major competition like the Euros is so special and I’m so excited. I’m confident I can make a difference to the team."

The seven players to miss out from the 33-man provisional squad are James Maddison, Harry Maguire, Jack Grelaish, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, James Trafford and young Everton centre half Jarrad Branthwaite.
