Black is back

West Ham United have unveiled the club's new change kit for the coming 2023/24 season.

Dubbed as 'The Cockney Kit', which is said by the accompanying launch statement to be "inspired by the Hammers’ East End roots", the all-black kit features claret finishing on the cuffs and collar plus as an outline on the club crest.

However the overriding colour of note is the not particularly WHUFC-related bright green of the arm sponsor logo, which - like the home shirt - is the theme of a number of comments on the KUMB Forum asking how to remove the offending patch.

Meanwhile some fans have questioned the decision to include an embroidered 'bell' icon on the back of the shirt, which is meant to represent the City's Bow Bells according to the club's launch content.

"Legend has it that to be a true Cockney, you must be born in earshot of the Bow Bells," it reads, "and the shirt also features a motif of this east London icon on its neck."

The shirt is available for adults, priced at £75 for the standard shirt and £60 for juniors. Adding logos and lettering will add another £20 to the cost.
