The Hammers, trailing after less than 40 seconds to Brian Mbuemo's first minute strike - Brentford's THIRD opening minute goal in as many games - struggled at times despite seeing plenty of the ball and frequently looked short of invention in the final third.However Soucek's stumbling snapshot, eight yards from goal and nine minutes after the restart, ensured West Ham's away record remained intact - in stark contrast to the club's current home form.
