West Ham United midfielder Andy Irving has been selected for the Scotland national squad - for the first time.
Despite having represented his country at Junior, Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 levels previously, Irving had never represented the Scots at senior level. However that could all be set to change after the 24-year-old was named by Steve Clarke - former assistant to Gianfranco Zola at West Ham - in his latest squad to face Croatia and Portugal in forthcoming Nations League fixtures.
The Scots, without a win in their last eight outings visit Zagreb's Stadion Maksimir - where they will face Croatia - on 12 October, before welcoming Portugal to Hampden Park three days later on 15 October.
Irving has made two appearances - both as a late substitute, against Chelsea and Brentford - for West Ham so far this season.
He has been included in Clarke's squad due as a result of injuries to international regulars John McGinn, Scott McKenna, Tommy Conway and Max Johnston.
The full 23-man squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Craig Gordon, Angus Gunn, Jon McCracken
Defenders: Nicky Devlin, Grant Hanley, Liam Lindsay, Ryan Porteous, Anthony Ralston, Andrew Robertson, John Souttar, Greg Taylor
Midfielders: Ryan Christie, Ben Doak, James Forrest, Ryan Gauld, Billy Gilmour, Andy Irving, Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay, Lewis Morgan
Forwards: Ché Adams, Lyndon Dykes, Lawrence Shankland
