There were very few dull games during his tenure as manager of West Ham United - but Harry Redknapp is predicting we're in store for one tonight when Wolverhampton Wanderers provide the latest test for Julen Lopetegui's Irons.

Goalless draw were a fairly rare outcome when Redknapp's team took to the field during the late 1990s - yet that is his prediction for tonight's bottom-half clash in Stratford which, given the parlous position of both incumbent managers, has been dubbed as "el-sackico".

Gary O'Neil's side arrive in London one place off the bottom of the Premier League having secured just nine points from their 14 fixtures so far in the 2024/25 EPL campaign.

And Redknapp doesn't expect them to return to winning ways against Lopetegui's side, even though he's believes they will not return to the Black Country empty handed.

"The West Ham fans were venting their spleens at Julen Lopetegui, and I’m still wondering how they lost that game against Leicester given their opportunities," Redknapp, speaking to BetVictor said.

"The defeat left his future under scrutiny again. The burning question is, will he make it past Christmas?

"Everton really turned on the style against Wolves. I never expected that result. Wolves were a complete shambles at the back. Call me cruel, but they were all over the place and were lucky to only concede four! I worry for Gary O’Neil, if I’m honest.

"I think this match will be a very cagey affair. Neither manager will want to take any risks as both have their jobs on the line."

And Redknapp cited Wolves' exciting Brazilian forward as the potential man to watch. "Matheus Cunha really needs to step up to the plate here and put in a performance to get his side back on track," he said.

"He has the ability - and all Wolves' eyes will be on him."
