West Ham United are hoping to raise funds for the current transfer window - by offloading summer signing Luis Guilherme.
The £25million capture from Palmeiras has barely featured under Julen Lopetegui, on whose watch he was the first new signing back in June, or his successor Graham Potter. And in order to raise capital in order to boost the club's attacking options, West Ham are understood to be seriously considering an offer from an unnamed club in Saudi Arabia for the 18-year-old.
News of the potential sale will add further pressure on Technical Director Tim Steidten, whose position is being questioned in numerous quarters in the wake of a poor record of recruitment.
Of the nine arrivals overseen by Steidten in the summer, just two - Max Kilman and Aaron Wan-Bissaka - has become a first team regular.
Meanwhile fellow newcomers Carlos Soler, Jean-Clair Todibo, Guido Rodriguez, Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Wes Foderingham and Guilherme - whose capture cost just shy of £100million - have struggled to hold down a first team slot for various reasons.
West Ham are understood to have paid £19.5million for Guilherme, with an additional £6million dependent upon certain clauses and conditions being met.
The unnamed club to which he is being touted are understood to have been rivals for his signature last summer.
