However he is expected to complete a move to east London within the next 48 hours, with the two clubs having agreed a fee thought to be worth in the region of £10m - to which an additional £3m in add-ons could follow if certain contractual clauses are met.

Banzuzi, who is expected to fly to England later today ahead of completing a medical made his pro debut for former club NAC Breda at the age of just 16, back in October 2021.

Last June he signed a three-year contract with Pro League outfit Leuven, for whom he has already made 47 first team appearances while scoring three goals - meaning that he has already made in excess of 100 professional appearances for his two clubs.

Standing 6'3" tall, Banzuzi - who is of Congolese descent - has also been interesting Leicester City, although the Hammers appear to have won the race for his signature.
