West Ham United's on-loan Academy graduate George Earthy has been offered the opportunity to extend his stay at Bristol City beyond the end of the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder is spending the 2024/25 campaign on loan with the Championship side, where he has been earning rave reviews for The Robins. And KUMB has learned that Earthy has been asked to remain in the south west next season - with City happy to take the player on loan again or on a permanent basis, should they secure promotion to the Premier League this season.
While West Ham are yet to respond to City's proposal, the club are thought to be open to reaching a permanent agreement for Earthy, who was born in Havering and has been at West Ham since he was an Under 6.
He has featured on 33 occasions for The Robins this season, scoring two goals in the process, and has become a firm fans' favourite since making his debut last August.
"He’s got to be top of the class for effort alone," wrote City fan JP Hampton following City's 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion, a result that saw them rise to fifth in the table.
"His off the ball play is superb and at just 20 is a joy to watch. It’s like he’s suddenly loving playing for City."
While fellow Bristol fan AppyDAZE, added: "They should market a new product - the Duracell Earthy. The bloke just never stops".
An opinion seconded by SouthS22 who said: "Brilliant on the press, makes loads of runs to open up space and very neat and tidy in possession.
"A warrior for City. Would love him to sign permanently but the chances are slim to zero, sadly."
