Hammers to win, predicts Harry

West Ham will come out on top in this weekend's big London derby - according to a man who knows both clubs particularly well.

Harry Redknapp was a player for West Ham before going on to manage both clubs in the late 1900s and noughties. And he firmly believes Graham Potter's side are set to put their woeful run of recent form behind them by beating their near neighbours in Stratford this weekend.

Speaking to BetVictor ahead of Sunday's clash, Redknapp maintained that Tottenham's exploits in Europe will affect them when they face a far fresher West Ham.

"West Ham have just had a disastrous season and to be honest, they’re quite fortunate the bottom three have been so poor," said the 78-year-old. "The owners were targeting Europe at the start of the season – they’re currently fourth bottom!

"Tottenham aren’t much better though. A defeat here would be their 20th in the Premier League!

"I think Spurs, like Man Utd, will rest so many players to focus on the Europa League - and the Hammers should take advantage of that and get the win."

As for his player to watch? "Where would West Ham be without Jarrod Bowen?" said Redknapp. "He has virtually carried them this season."

Tottenham have failed to win on their previous four visits to east London, with West Ham having won twice - 2-1 in February 2021 and 1-0 in October of that year - while the remaining two meetings (August 2022 and April 2024) ended in draws.v
