The opposition view: Manchester United

They used to be a top side, once upon a time, but Ruben Amorim's Mancunians are far more comfortable in mid-table these days - and it showed, as they allowed the Hammers to steal a point at Old Trafford having taken a second half lead. Enjoy the filth and the fury from the North West in your latest edition of the OV...

"You know, I consider myself an old guard fan as I’ve been supporting [Man] United since 1995. feck I’m old. Everyone talks about [Man] United DNA… guess what? The [Man] United DNA is pretty much from Sir Alex Ferguson. He was a pragmatist. He set up [Man] United to win every match. He always, always had match winners in his side. I see a couple of match winners, but they aren’t being utilised because that clown Amorim has too many 'principles' to follow. Feck him. I have no patience for a clown that has to prove himself. Guess what? If you are the [Man] United manager and you have the side that is 18th in the league at home, you need to win at the very least, and probably win by at least two goals. He’s not a [Man] United quality manager. He needs to go. I don’t care who the feck they bring in."

"Can't be dropping those points at home to a team as poor as West Ham. The style of play is still dreadful, long ball heavy with no intention to control the game or possession."
- Bobski

"I don't think I've hated a [Man] United team - on a physical level - as much as I do this one. Cowardly, spineless, lack of urgency, limp, trash millionaires stealing a living."
- SB16

"Things like that can happen, especially when we change a lot. On the last games West Ham, Everton, Spurs, where we should have nine points, when we collected two. There is still room from improvement, but these games where winnable and we should have done better. Maybe it's Amorim's limit, because against Everton and yesterday, he impacted negatively the game. I am more angry at the result, the inconsistency, and the fact that he should have managed the game better."
- Chaky_Best

"I actually might hate this team. Such a bunch of weak, spineless jokers. Also, this experiment is officially over for me. This one along with Everton are sackable offences. Enough is enough. It's not working, let's try something new."
- Mike Smalling

"Another poor, disappointing, home performance. I get we’re missing a couple of players but you shouldn’t need your strongest 11 to beat this lot, unless our squad really is that bad."
- GregM40

"If the team can't even see off West Ham then there's a problem. For their equaliser our entire team was near post. Amateur defending. Piss poor. If any of our players read this forum, expectation is on the floor and we are still disappointed. We want to be in Europe next year, teams around us drop points and our response? Drop more points and to a relegation team."
- TheNewEra

"I look at our starting 11 and the bench and think we must have half a team injured and then I realise, no, this is it, this is Manchester United 2025. Bar Bruno and maybe Amad the rest might as well be playing for the likes of Everton or Crystal Palace, so mid table is probably all that can be expected and most likely also where we will end."
- The Dane

"For those old enough to remember, it's like watching us under Dave Sexton after we had just seen the exciting years of Tommy Docherty. Safety first football wins you very little."
- Linerarms

"Fold the club."
- Mr Smith

"The manager should influence the team, the commentors mentioned West Ham dominated the first 15 minutes. How it is possible that this team start the game in front of the home crowd with no intensity and energy? Amorim, that's the best you can do. We could be top four with a proper manager, not this fraud. Every time, I am expecting a home win we ended losing or drawing. Enough is enough, almost £200 million of talent and this is the best that you can do. I will personally drive you to your next club."
- r0663664

"Amorim is a coward. Deep in my heart, after going one up was at least we won't get beaten. We were lucky it was a 1-1, West Ham could have won it after they equalised. Amorim, you know you are a bloody poor manager and you don't deserve to be the manager of this club. Get the hell out of here! Submit your resignation! Ineos, please let him go!"
- r0663664

"Just pathetic. Chasing the game with 10 minutes left and that silver-tongued prick is just tinkering with the centre backs."
- ElCuddlos

"Cowardly shite players and an even more cowardly shite manager. Can't even begin to count the points we've dropped that we shouldn't have at this point. Every time we have a chance to leap up the table and gain momentum they shit the bed. That Forest game might have ended our chances of achieving anything this season because we're so weak mentally."
- ValenciasDrilledCrosses

"The longer we stick with Ruben the longer we accept we are mid table shit. Chance to go 4th vs Everton - bottled. 5th tonight - fecked it. Amorim out. Worst record in history please get rid. these are the sort of games we should win 4-0."
- Lennon7

"Shite from the start and expected. Not learning a thing from previous games. Special mention to the cunt ref with the easiest second yellow he could give for AWB and bottled it. Wanker. Management? A joke."
- Heinzesight

"That was pathetic. This team and manager continue to disappoint. These Everton and West Ham games are just so damaging. Think Amorim gets the season, but TBH it only takes a poor result next Monday against two-point Wolves to put him under real pressure again, if he isn't already..."
- armchairfan25

"Justifiable booing rings out around Old Trafford again. Utterly pathetic again, par for the course for this outfit. The manager is not good enough but even with a good manger this squad is mid table mediocre. The whole feeling is just soulless , just like the club, It is not United anymore."
- Betson

"Shit, cowardly team. Shit, clueless manager. Shit, negative tactics. Awful owners. Nothing new and nothing gonna change any time soon. Depressing."
- IrishMcD

"We’re just not a serious club anymore. We’ve got a joker in charge. Another 90 minutes of absolute shit again."
- Cpt Negative

"West Ham are stupid lucky to get a point from this game, they created close to nothing all game. We controlled it rather well for the most part, but you kinda of knew our defence would crumble. It feels like we are back to hoping for Bruno or Amad to come up with something special, which is sad after spending roughly £200m on reinforcements up front."
- Gordon S

"This is just what we'll be until the end of the season. A bit shit, cautious, and every game a slog. Sometimes we'll finish well and win games, sometimes the opponents will finish better.... There is no 'significantly outplaying' unless we play relegation fodder (which West Ham might be, but Nuno is decent so probably not)."
- bosnian_red

"West 'anti football' Ham. Forever blowing referees."
- One Night Only

"After the first goal I thought West Ham would come out and leave space for us to get another goal or two. Yet we simply never kicked on. Our attacking play tonight was just pathetic. Loads of crosses with no one on the end of them, the forward line continues to look like a bunch of individuals rather than a cohesive unit. Even the goal we scored relied on a big deflection. Without that we might never have broken down a West Ham defence that had conceded the second highest number of goals in the Premier League."
- Parma Dewol

"It’s a sad state of affairs that at Old Trafford, the away team were the ones pushing for a winner and not settling for a point. Amorim needs to go."
- manutddjw

I get the league is competitive this season, but that West Ham team is shite."
- BuzzKillington

"One point out of six at home against Everton and West Ham isn't good enough, simple as that really. Subs were really uninspiring too, we had a decent spell just before half time and after it but considering the opposition we didn't do nearly enough, the team just feels stagnant."
- redom

"Todibo and Wan-Bissaka (who should have been sent off) were impressive. Man United just uninspired and bland."
- Harry190

"If the ref added any more time, West Ham would've nicked it."
- PoTMS

"Good job the ref didn't send Wan-Bissaka off, we'd have probably lost."
- Lash
