George Earthy greeted his return to Bristol City by claiming "the place feels like home"!
The 21-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions for City during the 2024/25 campaign in a previous loan spell at Ashton Gate and will spend the remainder of the season there having agreed a half-season loan."The place feels like home and so I am really happy to be back," Earthy told City's website. "I am really looking forward to seeing the fans again. I have always been thinking about [my chant] since I left.
"They were so good to me, it is special to be back, and I cannot wait to get back in front of them again. The way the gaffer has implemented his style of play into the club is something I feel I can fit in to really well."
And new boss Gerhard Struber, who took over the managerial reigns at Ashton Gate back in June admitted he was delighted to have the opportunity to work with Earthy, who will wear the number 44 shirt during his time in the west country.
“He is a very interesting player and did very well here last year," said Struber. "We are very happy to add a player of his quality to the squad."
Earthy was allowed to leave West Ham by Nuno Santo, who confirmed the midfielder needed more first team experience before being fully exposed to the rigours of the Premier League.
"There are players that have to leave and we are being very direct and honest with them and looking for the best options," he said, speaking to the media in his Friday press conference.
"Like, for example, George Earthy is joining Bristol [City again]. He needs to play, Earthy, he needs minutes for his development."
