West Ham United Women have completed the signing of experienced midfielder Katie Zelem, with the England international joining the club after departing Manchester United.

The 28-year-old arrives at the Chigwell Construction Stadium following an impressive career in WSL Football and internationally.

Zelem is most known during her time at Manchester United, where she made well over 150 appearances in all competitions, captained the side, and helped establish the club as a consistent force in the Women’s Super League, including Champions League qualification and multiple top-four finishes.

A product of Blackburn Rovers’ academy, Zelem began her senior career with the Lancashire club before spells at Juventus and Manchester United shaped her into one of the WSL’s most reliable midfielders.

Known for her composure on the ball, tactical intelligence and set-piece quality, she has also represented England at youth level and earned senior caps, bringing valuable international pedigree with her to West Ham.

Zelem’s arrival signals clear ambition from the Hammers as they look to build a competitive, experienced core capable of pushing up the WSL table.

With her leadership and know-how, she is expected to play a key role both on the pitch and within the dressing room as West Ham United Women enter the next phase of their development.
