West Ham United's attempts to sign a central defender ahead of tonight's 7pm transfer window deadline remain ongoing.

While a medical has been booked for Chelsea's Alex Disasi, ahead of a proposed half-season loan, the deal remains unconcluded with the 27-year-old still harbouring concerns about the switch from west to east London.

Meanwhile rumours of approaches for potential alternatives persist. Juventus are reported to have rejected West Ham's enquiry regarding Federico Gatti, the 6'4" Italian international. The 27-year-old has made 16 appearances for Juve so far this season but remains very much part of the Serie A side's plans.

Elsewhere, Mads Hermansen remains keen to find a new club before tonight's 7pm deadline. The Danish back-up to Alphonse Areola is keen to secure first team football in order to cement his credentials ahead of this summer's World Cup Finals.

However one player who won't be replacing Hermansen is Tottenham's Antonin Kinsky. Having been unable to source a suitable replacement, the north London side are not allowing him to leave the club during the current transfer window.
