West Ham youngster Emeka Adiele is set to join Dutch outfit Utrecht after agreeing a permanent deal with the Eredivise club.

And that will come as a major blow to West Ham, who had hoped to retain the services of the 18-year-old who is out of contract at United this summer.

Adiele, who first joined West Ham as an Under 9 has also represented England at Under 17 and Under 18 level. He signed a scholarship in the summer of 2023 and his first professional contract in July 2024.

Speaking about the player at the time, Academy Manager Kenny Brown said: "When I first came in, everyone was quite vocal about Emeka’s talent.

"It’s still very early in his footballing pathway, but he’s working with top staff. The future is bright for him and our desire for him is to keep pushing him on."
