Callum Wilson has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract with West Ham, giving the experienced striker another opportunity to prove his value - whether that be in the Premier League or the Championship.

The 34-year-old forward agreed the short-term extension following positive discussions with Nuno Espirito Santo and his team, who believe his experience and finishing ability can play an important role both on and off the pitch.

Speaking after signing the new deal, Wilson said he was delighted to continue his journey in east London. “I’m really pleased to get it done,” he said. “From the moment I arrived here, I felt welcomed by everyone — the staff, the players and, of course, the fans. West Ham is a massive club with big ambitions, and I still feel I have a lot to offer.”

Wilson acknowledged that the decision to extend his stay was influenced by the club’s long-term vision and the belief shown in him by the coaching staff.

“The manager made it clear he values what I bring to the squad, not just in terms of goals but experience and leadership,” he added. “At this stage of my career, that kind of trust means a lot. I want to repay that faith by contributing as much as possible this season.”

Manager Santo also expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, describing Wilson as an important presence within the squad.

“Callum is a top professional,” he said. “Everyone knows the quality he has in front of goal, but what people might not always see is the influence he has around the training ground. Younger players learn from him every day — his movement, his mentality, and how seriously he takes preparation.”

The manager added that Wilson’s experience in the Premier League has been vital during key moments of the campaign.

“When you’ve got a player who’s scored goals consistently in this league, that experience becomes extremely valuable,” he explained. “We’re building a squad with a strong mix of youth and experience, and Callum fits perfectly into that balance.”

Wilson’s career has been defined by resilience and determination. Having previously starred for clubs such as Bournemouth and Newcastle, he has built a reputation as a clinical finisher and intelligent striker capable of making decisive contributions.

So far this season he has shown flashes of that ability for West Ham, scoring several important goals and providing a steady presence in attack when called upon.

Hammers fans will now be hoping the striker can deliver more memorable moments over the coming year. For Wilson, the objective is simple.

“I’m here to help the team,” he said. “Whether that’s scoring goals, helping younger players, or doing whatever the manager asks of me. We want to push as high as possible in the league and compete in every competition. I’m excited to be part of that.”

With the new contract signed, Wilson will now turn his focus to the remainder of the current campaign — and helping West Ham remain in the top flight.
