The opposition view: Wolves

Beaten, bested and battered - but still they come. You have to feel for the Wolves fans as they watch their club charter an inevitable path to the Championship. The best - and worst - of their post-match thoughts below...

"Not too sure what to make of that. Thought we were good for the first 30 minutes or so and should have been ahead. At least we looked to have a go, which is what I have wanted to see. The capitulation after the second goal, however, was extremely worrying and to lose 4-0 against such a poor West Ham side raises a lot of questions about next season. A huge step backwards after a fairly decent run before the international break. Massive changes needed in the Summer. Both on and off the pitch."
- Tring Wolf

"Three gifts as late Easter presents. It was a shambolic game after they scored . Slow, ponderous, so many poor passes and touches. We can, however, now close the great escape thread. We were as poor tonight as the Hammers were at our place."
- Bryce

"Awful. I put more effort into my evening shit."
- xbomber

"Everything that could go wrong did tonight. We played well first half but didn't take the few chances we had, then they scored with their first shot on target, Good header, mind. Second half we give the ball away in midfield and they score with a toe poke and a deflection - game over. Never a 4-0 game but that is the score line, very poor after the second goal went in lost all shape and all hope."
- Black Country Wanderer

"Soulless ground and plastic, entitled fans, who only started to sing a bit when they were 3-0 up. Very disappointing implosion by the team at the end and even more disappointing witnessing what looked to be a racially-motivated skirmish on the way out involving a couple of our fans. Come on, we’re better than that."
- Andywolf74

"3-0 lead from the first leg, but still lost on aggregate..."
- CelebrityWolf

"Some nice, safe football from us for the first 15/20 minutes but not really getting anywhere fast. Our best chances in the first half came from set pieces or mistakes by West Ham, which isn't uncommon in football. West Ham had a couple of good chances but they were poor first half. I said at halftime I was expecting West Ham to improve and they did. We were poor in the second half. A really disappointing result. Well done to the fans for going, but not worth the petrol money. You deserved better."
- clivewolves

"4-0, against a poor West Ham? Disgraceful, pathetic, clueless bunch of no hopers. Edwards can fuck off as well."
- Longford Wolf

"Thought we were excellent for three minutes."
- wolvesnl

"Relax, all we have to do is win our remaining games while Burnley pick up three points less and one of West Ham, Notts Forest or Spurs fail to get any more points."
- Mardenboroughs Shoulder

"The score flattered West Ham and I also thought we looked like a really good side in the first half. We were balanced, pressing well, and fighting for every ball while looking dangerous coming forward. I liked the starting team and agreed with dropping Mane. Obviously, it all went wrong in the second half, especially after taking Gomes/Bell off, but once the game was gone, we did fall apart. This side would comfortably come back up next season, but we will not have 6/7 of these players next season being the problem. It can only get better, so try not to let this spoil your weekend."
- Teamgreek

"We looked OK first half-an-hour, but had little attacking threat with the XI that we picked. West Ham looked poor too but still stuck four past us. Looks like we won't win an away game this season. A fresh slate is needed in the summer as we know, but that needs to include the dugout, too. Edwards isn't the guy."
- Perton Wolf

"West Ham are pumped they’ve beat us, not realising Spurs will do it as well. No way we’ll beat Spurs... we’ve just laid bare (again) how poor we are in both boxes."
- Greeno

"We were better than a poor West Ham first half, but still had pretty much zero threat up front. Once we went behind I think any remaining belief that we might have a chance of closing the gap and putting pressure on those above us started to fade and after the second it went completely. Playing decent football in defence and midfield first half doesn't count for much though if you can't score."
- jrpb-3

"We lost 4-0 to a very ordinary side by playing it safe yet again in a game we needed to win if we want to pull off a miracle. We didn't lay a glove on them in the end even though we did play some decent football at the start and thats a big worry. It's no good upping your game against the Arsenals and Liverpools if you cant get up for games against relegation rivals. Pathetic."
- Mugwump

"West Ham United were never four goals better than Wolves and in the first half we were the better team. Sadly the players were the architects of their own downfall."
- Frank Lincoln

"Garbage from the 40th minute. Looked good until they scored the first goal. West Ham are not a good side, but we were bloody awful after that goal and the goals we gave away in the second half were criminal! Started off really well and needed to score, but so many poor performances from the players. That’s it for the season, Mixers. We are down!"
- Scallywolf

"Humiliated by a poor West Ham team, they simply wanted it more. Would've been nice to have had more of a say in this relegation situation and bloodied a few noses. We may still do so, but Edwards has a huge job on now to keep these players motivated. The momentum was stalled 25 days ago, I doubt now that it will be restored."
- Oldgoldilox

"Looked fairly decent for 40 minutes but then capitulated and I don’t know why. Bowen apart, WHU looked very poor and no way should we lose at all to them, let alone 4-0. An embarrassing second half.
Did Sa literally dive over the top of the ball for two of their goals? Did someone mention Lincoln away next season. Great. Not."
- AndyY

Based on tonight's performance, it is clear that the three-week window since the last game has been made the most of with team building sessions principally focussed on experimenting with drugs. Based on tonight, I suspect that the only option of someone who could be interested in joining us, and feel that they could seamlessly fit in, is Dylan from the Magic Roundabout."
- Lobo de Madrid

I say this after every game, but I cannot stand Yerson Mosquera. It'll be nice to not see him diving around, moaning and being unable to trap or pass a ball for the next couple of weeks thanks to his suspension."
- Sketchead

"Edwards is a PE teacher and the sooner he fucks off back to Telford the better for all concerned."
- Don Gloomshroud

"Just got home. I was dumbfounded with shock as the care-free, care-less, clue-less masquerade of the second half unfolded. But thinking on it now after the passage of a few hours I am more angry, fucking angry actually. There is no excuse for giving up like that. If some of you highly-paid, so-called professional footballers don't want to wear a Wolves top on the pitch like many of us do in the stands then kindly fuck off."
- Ex Estate Agent Wolf

"That game was this entire season in a nutshell. Stupid mistakes. Not good enough going forwards. Not taking chances, getting punished every time we do make a mistake. Poor tactics. It's also telling that if there was ever a game to turn up for, this was it. We were going down either way, make no mistake. But everything about the players tonight shows why we are where we are. This season can fuck right off."
- DasWolf

"Started alright. Went rubbish. Got even worse."
- Ned

"I'm at loss to come up with one word superlatives to sum up that performance! Shit, gutless, abysmal, dire, naive, rudderless... Fosun, Rob Edwards, and every single one of the charlatans who are honoured to wear the old gold shirt of this once great club, can do one! Absolute shit show! Angry doesn't even begin to sum it up!"
- WWFC4EVA

"Look at Spurs' appointment and it's so obvious Wolves got it wrong with Edwards. A free roll match and he plays the league's smallest striker shows how tactically out of touch he is. Reactive and negative and slow doing the first. Not a chance will he get Wolves back up. Foson, show your balls and do something."
- The Fat Bloke

"I can't work out why I'm still watching this team. I'm seriously thinking I must need psychological help."
- Mel Eves on a bike

"I'm diverting my hopes and prayers to Spurs getting relegated with us."
- Jamwolf
