Konstantinos Mavropanos

Bayer Leverkusen have placed the current KUMB.com Player of the Year Dinos Mavropanos at the top of their defensive shortlist, according to reports emanating from Germany

The Greece international centre‑back, who is under contract with West Ham until 2028 is reported to be keen on a return to the Bundesliga and Leverkusen are keen to try and cut a deal with United for the 27‑year‑old. West Ham paid €21million to sign the defender from Stuttgart three years ago next month.

Ruben Vargas

Championship or not, it wouldn't be a World Cup summer without one or two tentatively-linked players now, would it?

And so for 2026, West Ham have been credited with making "an ambitious attempt" to land Swiss winger Ruben Vargas, who is currently contracted to Spanish side Seville. The 27-year-old winger, who can operate on both flanks arrived in Spain via Augsburg in January 2025 having signed a four-year contract and is valued somewhere between the €15million-€20million mark - a figure that would represent a notable fee for a second tier club. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Trabzonspor have also been credited with interest in the player.

Dwight McNeil

On Sunday, Sky Sports reported that United are interested in acquiring the services of the 26-year-old Everton winger this summer.

West Ham reportedly view the situation as an opportunity because McNeil’s contract has less than a year remaining. New Head of Recruitment Nils Koppen and Nuno Espirito Santo are expected to determine the club’s recruitment priorities in meetings over the coming weeks.

Martin Adeline

Troyes midfielder Martin Adeline is the latest French-based player to make West Ham sit up and take notice, it was claimed by the Mail at the weekend.

The 22-year-old helped Troyes win promotion from Ligue 2 but they face a serious battle to keep hold of him over the coming weeks and months amid plenty of attention from elsewhere, including east London. Adeline is under contract with the Ligue 1 new boys until 2027, leaving just 12 months of his contract left to run. Although no bid id yet forthcoming for the player, who scored 11 goals in Ligue 2 last season, West Ham are said to be close to making an offer.

Niclas Fullkrug

Anopther player keen on returning to the Bendesliga is out-of-favour striker Niclas Fullkrug - although the prospects of that appear even less likely that they were a week ago.

The former German interntional spent last season on loan with Milan who rejected the oppportunity to make the deal permanent, meaning the 33-year-old - whose four-year contract still has two years left to run - is back at West Ham until such time as he can find a new club. However that is unlikely to be Werder Bremen, who have ended their interest in signing the 24-times-capped German international.
